Strengthening of Exporters’ Association

Project objective: Improve interaction of exporters with relevant government agencies and facilitate information flow.
Description of actual services provided by consultants:
1) Preliminary study of all problems related to this area;
2) Conduction of familiarizing seminars for current and potential exporters for the purpose of forming regional initiative groups;
3) Activity overview of CIS Exporters’ Associations;
4) Formation of National Working Group comprising representatives from each region, who could become founders of the Association;
5) Provision of legal support by drafting Association’s Carter;
6) “Association development” training for personnel of organizations chosen to be regional secretariats for Association’s chapters;
7) Establishment of the Association and its chapters, Board of Directors representing all regions;
8) Recruitment of staff for Executive Unit of the Association. The process included:
a. Selection criteria
b. Rewards system
c. Official job instructions, and
d. Selection of Association’s Executive Director
9) Creation of a mechanism for effective dialogue with government agencies on republican and regional levels;
10) Ensuring maximum interest and awareness of the project through active informational campaign in all mass media.
Successful completion of the project created the following long-term benefits.
· Sustainable Exporters’ Association (with regional chapters) was formed;
· Business climate for export activity improved;
· Effective mechanism for dialog between exporters and Government was established;
· Self-financing mechanism was created.
